How do the Arts inform and sustain social change and activism? What is the role of arts and culture in building social movements for liberation?
Join us for an ‘In Conversation’ evening with culture creator and curator Devyani Saltzman, and writer/poet Brynn Saito as we explore the connection between an artist’s creative process and inspiring collective action. How can art inform, sustain, be a reflection of social change? How do we each tap into our own poetic consciousness to harness the power of creative expression that exists within all of us?
Program elements will include:
Creative inquiry using writing / journaling / art-related prompts
Exploration of the arts as a vehicle for civic engagement, self-expression, and witnessing or sense-making
Small group discussions to deepen into community-centric learning
